Lex's POV; some Chlex--After he leaves LuthorCorp, he visits his mother's grave
On this night so dark
Images, I have seen
Of pain leaving its mark
Experience being mean
Much my father has done
Many he did cheat
As he, his empire won
While making others weep
Tonight, I kneel
Before your grave
Sorrow’s burning, I feel
As others, I wish to save
Mother, you balance him
Your good against his bad
Negating his every whim
Driving him mad
You were my light
You are my guide
With Conscience’s candle bright
You stand by my side
I always endeavor
To bury your deed
To secrete it forever
While living your creed
On this night
I told Father the deed
While he, I did fight
Making his heart bleed
The truth, I did tell
Of Julian’s demise
Lionel’s faith fell
Feeling Pain’s rise
I understand, Mother
Really I do
Why my brother
You mercifully slew
Father would play us
This, you knew
As with me and Lucas
It proved all too true
On behalf of Mercy and Love
You struck
Removing the dove
Before Father from him his goodness pluck
Even at that point
Your principles stood firm
Your love did us anoint
Removing from us, Father’s worm
You should be in town
I wish you could see
My friends of great renown
And how my spirit, they free
One does remind me of you
How she stands tall
With convictions true
Never will she fall
Father has tried
To bring her down
She cried
But kept Virtue’s crown
You’d like her
This hazel fury of mine
With bright blond hair
Her eyes blazing with fire
You and she
A pair, you are
Your souls soar free
Taking me far
For that and so much more,
I love you
For keeping Resolve’s store
And to me, remaining true.
