Spoilers: Covenant. (Based on very last scene that
we see)
I float in the dark
Head on my knees
Fear’s easy mark
For my misdeeds
Two worlds pull
Seeking my pledge
Of devotion full
And thus, the edge
My Old World
It’s so cold
Machiavelli unfurled
Its manipulations bold
My father denied
My heart’s desire
Ordering me to hide
From Love’s fire.
I float in the dark
Head on my knees
Fear’s easy mark
For my misdeeds
Of Earth’s love
Many levels there are
Each fits like a glove
Each diverse as the stars
My parents care
Giving all they own
Much do they dare
To keep me as their own
My friends as well
They care too
For me they’d cross Hell
Their tears falling like dew
To my love
Alas! How cruel I am
Denying my dove
Truly my actions do me damn
I float in the dark
Head on my knees
Fear’s easy mark
For my misdeeds
Now I wait
For the end
I myself do hate
For daring to offend
“If only we listened!”
Assert my tears
As on my face they glistened
Affirming my fears
Everyone’s left
I can’t complain though
To them, I was deaf
Treating each like a foe
Do I deserve this fate?
Why should I suffer?
Is it too late
To erect a buffer?
Can’t these two planes
Learn to co-exist?
My deeds, their gains
Not a prize to be wrest?
Ah, that thought
Is beyond hope now
As Despair has brought
My dreams crashing down
Yet I recall
Undecided is my doom
I haven’t hit any wall
Hope’s flower may yet bloom!
If attentively I hear
If I really take heed
Of Love’s words dear
From here, I’ll be free.
