The waves crash on shore
Hard as stone
‘Listen to us,’ they me implore
Speaking of home
Once I was glad
Happy on the prairie
Only rarely mad
More often merry
There was this guy
That I love
To him, I fly
Straight like a dove
Him, I would tell
Everything dear
For him, I fell
When he came near
Despite his feelings
And yes, he does care
Less honest were his dealings
Tell me, he wouldn’t dare
For two years
I tried
But with him paralyzed with fears
Oft, I cried
So here I stand
On the beach
In a new land
Yet back there, I reach
Things here
Didn’t go as planned
While he’s not here
The flame, Love fanned
Now I have to decide
I have to know
From Fate I can’t hide
From the best path to grow
Clark, I need you
And you need me
That maxim is true
And us, it will free.
