Adopted son of Jonathan and Martha Kent.
Lives on the Kent family farm with them; does chores, goes to school
and tries to live a normal life. Came to Earth
in rocket ship with the meteor shower in 1989.

Began exhibiting powers upon arrival,
but said abilities are developing faster now as a teenager.

Hangs out with friends: Chloe Sullivan,
Lana Lang (at times), and Lex Luthor (at times).

First met Lana (as far as we know) in
middle school--love at first sight although her meteor necklace made
it impossible for him to admit it.

Although he's not allowed to participate
in football, basketball, or baseball (for obvious reasons), he excels
at swim meets and works on The Torch.

His secret strains the relationships he
has with those around him. Although Pete knows it, Clark is torn
between his need to remain safe and the need to have those around him
(re: Lana, Lex) trust him. Last two seasons this has been going
back and forth.

Lana Lang

Daughter of Henry Small and Laura
Lang. Born between 1985 and 1986 in Smallville. When Laura
reunited with estranged husband, Lewis, he became Lana's father in her
mind. During the meteor shower, Lewis and Laura died when a
meteor slammed into their truck. Recently, she and Henry
discovered that they were related and are working on that
relationship.

Adopted by her aunt, Nell Potter with
whom she lived until Nell decides to move to Metropolis.
Currently, she lives with Gabe and Chloe Sullivan.

Participates in some school activities
(former cheerleader, does some spirit week activities, and works on The
Torch)

Co-partner with Lex Luthor in running
the Talon, Smallville's premier coffee house.

Despite recent relationship with Whitney
Fordman, she has feelings for Clark. Knows that he has a secret, but
is torn between pushing him to reveal it and waiting for him to tell
her.

Moves beyond
"fairy princess" pigeon hole and developing into a stronger
character. (Season 3 development) Yet Adam Knight brings
issues for her.

Currently in Paris--"finding herself"
(whatever that means?) She returns to Smallville and a boyfriend
(Jason Teague) follows. Of course, trouble isn't far behind.
