Martha Approval Rating Factor: In this case, when the father is too paranoid for his own good, go with the mother's instinct. Martha's glad they're getting closer. In Season 3 (late) and Season 4, she's hinted at guilt over not letting Clark tell special folks about Secret.
The Ship/Kryptonian Approval Rating Factor: The ship intervened in the series twice (before Exodus): Twister and with Tina Greer. Both times were threats to Lana (and the Clana relationship). Plus, it placed Lana with Martha and Jonathan as the three big influences on Clark's life. (Too bad this doesn't extend to Kara....) And who knows what the Ship's "big sibling" and its driver will think?
